Yeah, I did wonder about Morphine.

Yeah the weather's better (could it be any worse?). And the hospitals. Goes w/o saying the food's better. Not so sure about the people tho' ;) (having said that my 1st love was a French girl-Aahhh.)

Nah. Just stuck in this f*cked up netherworld of depression. Hit A Wall Syndrome. Lamictal just about stops me from being an ex-Jah & allows me to write sentences. But that's about it. I'm not complaining tho'. Through my perseverence (& downright insistence) I've managed finally to get an appt with a REAL specialist psychopharmacologist. Some top professor at a teaching hospital. Also seeing some specialist DP unit. Not really supposed to have 2 NHS 'accounts' but why not screw a system that seeks to rump me on a regular basis?

>What's going on with your drug stuff?

Same as always (tho' I'm back on the SSRI [+Lamictal] merry-go-round for all the good it'll do me).

Interestingly I tried Methadone recently. Initially it improved my mood & energy levels but seemed to lose affect after a few days. I didn't go too high (only about 5ml); I thought I'd find out more on this site before going any further. Like you tho', I'm hesitant to bring this up for fear of being jumped on by the Thought Police.

I would be particularly interested to discover (anyone?) what might be considered a therapeutic dose for an opiate-naive individual (I appreciate this will vary) and whether the response to Methadone is linear in nature and if so, does it begin at the origin?

Side-effects? Unfortunately the constipation made itself evident v quickly, even at the small dose I was taking. Prepare yourself for lots of reading :-0

I felt kinda sleepy-but not in a particularly unpleasant or disruptive way-kinda dreamy.....(man).

It didn't particularly help with my insomnia but when I did sleep, I slept like a baby. Also suppressed the f*cked up dreams (honestly, I'm beginning to wonder about myself...) Celexa is currently tormenting me with.

So you're taking 40mg 3X a day (is that just to spread out the dose-I thought Meth was long-acting?)? Wow. Best get down the store for some a bumper-size box of laxatives:-)

Hope it works & pls keep us updated.

J.
