Yes, we were able to take the IR tablet of Wellbutrin and crush it well with a pill crusher she has (I myself have only a pill cutter). She put it into applesauce and said it was so bitter that she literally spit it out. A few hours later, thank goodness, she said she *could* swallow the tablets and did so.
If this happens again, I will have her crush the tablets into OJ or grape juice - some kind of strong flavored juice that would mask the bitterness and just have to go down the throat without really touching the tongue the way eating applesauce does.
Thanks for your suggestion. (by the way, the ER capsules are tricky to split up and everything I've ever read says NOT to; that these must be consumed in their capsule form, all at once).
