I saw the interview, and was concerned as well about Klonapin. But I got the idea that Stevie Nicks took a very high dose for 8 years. That could explain some of her withdrawal anguish.

> Having been on Klonopin off and on for several months now, and speaking as someone who DID have serious problems with other benzodiazepines years ago ... I think for a drug to be addictive, in the commonly used sense, there has to be some kick. The first time I took Librium, I was walking on air. In my experience, Klonopin just isn't that much fun. Most of what I've read here and elsewhere indicates that its addiction potential is relatively low.
> That doesn't mean that I couldn't become tolerant to it and dependent on it though. If I took a high dose for a long period and then suddenly stopped, I'd get withdrawal symptoms, as any of us would with almost all the meds we discuss on this board. Benzo's are known for a long withdrawal period.
> Most of the definitions of addiction these days include damage (to yourself or others) as a necessary factor. In other words, if anything is screwing up your life and you can't stop, you're addicted. If it's making your life better and not causing any other damage, then I personally would not call that addicted.
