Numbed emotions (flattened affect) are common to depression, schizophrenia & a whole host of psychiatric complaints. SSRIs are also notorious for numbing emotions, even when the depression itself is helped. This is probably pertinent in your case since yr experiences coincide with SSRI use.

As the article states, all manner of substances can induce this state.

Depersonalisation/derealisation is characterised by perceptual & visual distortions. For example a lot of sufferers (myself included) complain of a flat, 2-dimensional view of the world. Spatial awareness is naturally affected, impairing ability to drive etc. Others talk of 'out of body' experiences whereby they are able to watch themselves. Some talk of feeling like an automaton. If you don't have symptoms like these we're probably talking something else.

>Have you always had this or can you contribuate to something that's happened in your life?

Yes. I was born.

Always had it though wasn't truly aware of the scale of it until I enjoyed brief remission (BP II) & experienced 'normality'. All my family have it to some degree. Definitely inherited.

Anything else?
