Been there, tried that. My doctor and I were experimenting with various combinations and I felt as if I'd lost a sense of what was illness and what was side effects, especially fatigue, which is a symptom of depression for me as well as a common side effect. I wanted to "wipe the slate clean" before making any more changes. So I tapered off of meds with my doctor's knowledge and consent and waited to see what would happen. It was useful because it was nice to know what it felt like to have my body back to myself for a while. But before too long, I was gruesomely depressed. So we also knew for sure that being off meds wasn't going to work out, which was pretty much what I expected anyway. If you want to try a drug holiday, make sure your doctor is supervising. I think the risk in going off meds is that any mood control you have, even if partial, will be gone, and you risk having the depression crash down on you. Good luck deciding what to do.

> Anyone care to comment on above? I've been having problems with ADs, which many of you know. When I called my pdoc to discuss, he suggested increasing dosages of one or the other. I'm sure he knows more than I do, but I'm feeling a lot of resistance. We meet on Wednesday to discuss. What's the worse that could happen with a drug holiday? XXX, E.
