Every time effexor poops out I simply increase the dose. I am now up to 450mg.

The only side effects that I experience are insonmia (which trazadone takes care of), constipation (take a drug for that to) and a diminished appetite (for which I take L-tryptophan).

The higher I go with effexor the more I find my emotions are blunted. The emotional blunt is great for me since I have borderline personality disorder, which is an emotional disorder.

In borderline cases, effexor is pushed up to 600mg so I can still increase the dose a couple more times.

One pdoc wrote that he though high doses of effexor + remeron was in his opinion "the big gun" for treatment resistant and severe cases of depression. He even compared the combo to ECT.

So, as you have read, you have many choices.

Good luck!
