Nope. You have to have a serious condition to put yourself at real risk for serious complications, even death. For example, certain conditions such as septic abortion, massive infection, a condition called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, may lead to a potentially deadly complication called disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), whether taking an SSRI or not. The person experiences massive and uncontrolled bleeding, leading to shock and usually ends in death.
I believe either the American Society of Anesthesiologists or Surgeons recommends that you stop taking herbs at least 2 weeks prior to surgery.
