I'm doing very well with Provigil -- a year now at 100 mg. both days with Serzone and Klonopin for non-depressive social anxiety (it's not commonly prescribed for that). Unlike other meds, I did not need a period of getting-used-to for Provigil. It keeps me *gently* up and alert, and makes me more confident and social. Alas, the touted memory-enhancing effects are not in evidence, at least not at my dosage.

That said, in Psycho Babble I've read more negative experiences that positive ones. In other discussion groups (e.g. go to
http://groups.google.com/ and enter the words Provigil and modafinil) the favorability rate seems to be abou 50%. Of course, people are somewhat more likely to post when they're having problems.

If you're interested in more on my own experiences, go to "search with options" at the bottom of this page and search on Provigil and Rick.

Good Luck,
Rick

> Hi---Started provigil a week ago 100mg/day---was taking pemoline "cylert"--The cylert helped sometimes but many times especially morning dose made me fall back asleep& also the cylert was tough on the pain threshold---could really make teeth ache or other aches---not every time but very frequently--cylert was given to augment tranylcypromine "parnate" and to help offset day time drowsiness --also take cytomel t3 "thyroid" for same reason augmentation___ok here's the guestion---would like feedback on provigil---how you did etc---not interested in pharmaceutical explanations--have extensine psychopharmacology background and throughly understand the scientific pharmacology of provigil---I'm interested in personal experiences with provigil---so far my experience hasn't been very good --very sluggish head is very tight and thinking isn't as clear---don't want to give up on it yet---so I'm interested in your experiences with provigil---how it worked for you--pattern of it's effects over the course of using it--for ex--was it difficult during first few days then became effective etc or was it straight up--along a spectrum Thanks Bye BYe :):):) Hope to hear from you :)
