I don't think 7 pm is too early to take the effexor xr, unless it knocks you out. It has more than a 24 hour half-life, so it should last beyond 7 pm the next night.

> I have been on effexor xr 37.5 mg one at bedtime since Friday 6/15/01. I take medication for asthma also. Here is my problem, any suggestions will be appreciated. At 5PM I get off of work. My asthma medication has to be taken 1 hour before meals or two hours after meals. My effexor needs to be taken at bedtime with food or milk. I am lactose intolerant and can't drink milk. I usually try to get in bed by 10PM. It just doesn't work for me to eat a big meal before bed. This may sound like a simple task to figure out but I am having difficulty with this. I eat a late lunch and have for 20+ years. I am not hungry at 5PM and don't always feel like rushing home to eat. Here is what I am trying to do and it is wearing me out. I take my asthma medication around 5-5:30PM, that means I can't eat until 6-6:30PM. If I eat at 7PM that is too early to take the effexor. I do not like to eat before going to bed and I especially do not like to eat when I am not hungry....dinner at 7PM and then a snack at 9:30PM or 10PM won't work. HELP!!!!!!
