Lynne,Topomax is my primary med (along with a small dose of Neurotin at night); since I have taken Topomax, I no longer overeat...I also rarely drink alcohol, even in social situations, which I used to enjoy doing. I find these all to be good side effects. Topomax has not been sedating for me, so I do not consider it a sleep aid..I know others have found it to be the may depend on the dose.
