Each time I try and halve or quarter the 75mg dose, I end up with the usual 'discontinuation syndrome' symptoms that have been posted many times. I didn't realise how hard it is to get off this stuff!? Any tricks for me? I'm using clonazepam (Rivotril) and Inderal (propranolol) to control some of the symptoms. Other than that I feel stumped. Is "cold turkey" the only option?!
SHRINK, Maybe stay at 75mg a little longer, perhaps a couple more weeks. You can then get 37.5 mg caps and take those for a couple of weeks, then open and half the dose for a couple of weeks. I know Walgreens has or can get empty gel caps to assist in taking the smaller doses. Still, take it everyday. This is what I did, and it worked pretty well. Although once down to ~10-12 mg for a week then ending, I did still get some withdrawal symptoms, but nothing like the "cold turkey" approach I tried and your thinking of doing. Be careful, 75 mg is still pretty high to end using...
Good luck, talk to your Dr..
