I am on a cocktail of lithium, benzo Zoloft. I'm a rapid cycling bipolar II two and have been destabilized for over two years after previous ten of stabilization.
I'm on my fifth psychiatrist after the guy I saw for 10 years decided to pull meds during a mild but persistent depression. This is a very long story so I will cut tot the chase.
I have been experiencing cycling with terrible mixed states of depression and cognitive involvement, can't read can't think can't move, etc.
After none of the psychiatrist I've seen could come up with a solution I figured that the Zoloft (100mg) was causing the cycling and cut it down to (50mg). NTW the Zoloft was very important to me because of how successful it was with dealing with a moderate to severe social anxiety program. Finally the mixed states were too much to bear so I cut them back.
The cognitive dulling has improved with the disappearance or amelioration of mixed states but it is still there.
I'm taking 563mg lithium (100 mg more and cognitive dulling gets terrible), 50 Zoloft now, 1mg Ativan and 50 mg carbomepazine, plus .025 estrogen patch.Anyone have any idea if anything in this cocktail in addition to lithium can be causing dulling?
Has anyone who is menopausal and on estrogen experienced a recurrence, return or intensification of rapid cycling with unopposed estrogen therapy.
