Lisa - What was the active ingredient? Was it phenylpropanolamine (PPA). PPA has been removed from the market in North America because of a risk of heart attacks. In actuality, only one person has died as a direct result of consuming excessive PPA and I believe that this was 15 or so years ago. PPA was the best decongestant that we had and was not used in diet aids in Canada (but was in the U.S.).

I don't want to preach, but slimming pills do not work over the long term. You gain the weight back (and often more) when you use weight loss programs that take off pounds quickly. Genetics sets your body shape to a major extent, and after that, through exercise, you can only firm and tone what you got. It's not willpower, but hard work and sensible eating that will help to shed excess pounds (or, I guess in the U.K. you are now forced to say kilograms - I heard about the banana weighing fiasco).

Hope this helps - Cam.
