CBT is teaches you how to change your behavior, in your case--how to better deal with stress and how to redefine how your panic affects you. An example of a technique would be-- Normally when your panic starts it may be hard for you to control your negative thoughts, CBT shows you how to change your thought patterns to make them more positive. Like "This is never going to end!" (which is a "panic feeding" statement) might be changed to "Nothing lasts forever, this soon shall pass." (which is more calming and rational). This is just an example; they are the techniques that worked for me. After awhile your brain learns a new way of perceiving things, which makes the anxiety easier to deal with and less intense.
