I think that Remeron still has a chance at relieving your irritability...

The usual treatment for irritability and anger is the use of an anticonvulsant. Depakote ER is really good at taking away anger episodes without side-effects (just recently the ER version was approved in 2001): http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/split/Mood-stab-stim-for-anger.html

And, of course, mirtazapine seems to have less side-effects (less drowsiness) at higher doses than lower ones. I used to take a whopping 90 mg without drowsiness or weight gain.

I am hoping this will get better as I adjust to the med. I intend to talk to my doc about upping my dose to 45 to see if that helps...but I don't want to lose the sedative effects at night since insomnia is my main complaint.

I have really had to struggle to contain those feeling. Maybe as the anti-depressant effects get into place this will improve?
