Mikel,

There is an interaction between Serzone and Xanax.
As explained to me by my pdoc, Serzone inhibits the liver enzyme that metabolizes Xanax, thus extending its half-life and increasing blood levels. This is one reason why I was not put on that combination- because I was taking Xanax at the time, I was put on Paxil (which did not work)and then Celexa (which did) I'd check this out with your doc to see if it is at the root of your current problem.
