Remeron and Serzone less agitating than SSRI's?

Posted by JohnM on February 18, 2001, at 20:58:56

I just read from a book "Prozac and the New Antideppresants" that Remeron and Serzone are more sedating than the stimulating and often insomnia-inducing SSRI's and that they could be more appropriate for people who have anxiety symptoms in addition to their depression.

I've tried Prozac, Paxil, and Effexor and they all "kicked my ass" with anxious, agitating effects! If I remember right, Zoloft made me feel good early on, but I quickly crashed into a sort of a groggy stupor from it.

I suffer from Social Phobia/anxiety and Atypical depression symptoms. Anyone have any experiences or insights with these medicines?
