Hi:
It took about a week for the Risperdal to work for me. I, too, felt quite sleepy initially but it faded.
Unfortunately, I have decided to give it up ( at least try to) because it has caused other problems for me ( no menses now in 12 weeks)
Other than that, Risperdal was very effective for treating depression and social phobia. I did however take other meds w/ it ( Prozac, Wellbutrin and lastly mirapex)
Just thought I would pass this info. to you.

PS: It's been 2 days that I have been off it and I've been quite aggitated.
