Naltrexone

Posted by Fred Potter on January 18, 2001, at 15:51:05

After years of searching for a treatment for refractory depression with severe anxiety, I've found the answer with 40 mg Prozac and 25mg Naltrexone daily. Goodness knows why it works. SSRIs have always pooped out before but this seems sustained and I feel wonderful. What's more, I was self-medicating with alcohol. The Naltrexone has stopped that too and taken away any wish to drink. Why would I when I'm full up with happiness? I'm not hypomanic - just content. If you're suffering poop-out it might be worth a try. God bless the genius who thought of the idea. My doctors were skeptical and reluctant and I had to persuade them to let me try it. The only problem with Naltrexone is the price. Any ideas about getting it cheaper? I live in NZ.
