In reply to Wellbutrin is making me short tempered!!, posted by Lynne on November 15, 2000, at 16:16:41
> Could Wellbutrin cause me to be short tempered and will it go away? I have only been on this med for 4 days 150SR twice daily. I can tell it has changed me from a sad person to a angry person.
4 days at 300 mg/day? No gradual increase? Seems extreme. But I will say that WB made me EXTREMELY irritable, but only when my dosage fluctuated substantially -- i.e., when I first start using it, I was hostile as heck, which went completely away after a few weeks. Then, however, if I missed a does or two, I would get irritable a day or two later, which would then go away in another day or two. When I stopped using WB, I was irritable as heck while I was reducing my dosage until I was completely done. But otherwise, it was great--I'd suggest sticking with it and just warning your intimates that you might be unreasonable for a while, but to give it some time -- to avoid the libido problems with other drugs, I'd say its worth giving it another week or two.
