I also recieve Ritalin for ADD and depression, without other med (except amisulpride). It works for depression, and i don't become manic. But the problem is it has a too short life time and i have to take one every 2 hours. But in US you have the sustained release version which could be better. Just try it and you'll see what's happen. If it was dangerous they wouldn't give it to children.
