Wellbutrin for ADD? Adderall isn't doing the job.

Posted by Paul d on September 27, 2000, at 1:13:21

I tried using Wellbutrin for ADD but have each time had some problems. The first time I took it, I took it in the morning went to the mall, forgot to eat, felt like I was in space all day--even adderall didn't help. Couldn't sleep that night, then I got 2 hours of sleep and the my job calls me to help them at work for a bit, so I took my wellbutrin again and then my adderall, and this time I became mega stupid. I had to drive 2 orders to 2 different people and memorized both addresses before I left the store--which I usually can't or don't think to do--but when I got to my 2nd address I noticed I had switched the 2 orders. On top of that, I was literally hitting myself to keep my mind on the road--and it didn't work well. I probably got nasty at work too, since I've noticed that happening before.

I stopped trying WB soon. But I did try cutting my 150sr, and noticed it worked better--at least with the adderall--and I've fourthed them before, only to get even better mixes. I mean I really could follow written instructions, and started looking at all those jobs I'd forgotten I had put off. Instead of dispair at the lack of frozen pizzas in the freezer, I was whipping up what I could with that I had. Even though the med mix was giving me weight loss concerns--whether true or not I'm not sure.

I ran out of adderall once and I had been putting off this paper, on the final night I was desperate so I tried that wellbutrin 150 and lo and behold I wrote something! No adderall! Nothing spectacular--but something.

My big problem is that once I tried 100sr w/o Adderall and made it through 5 days 2 times a day, but on the fifth having slept little the night before, I wrecked my damn car at a busy intersection. I was horrified, I immediatly decided it was the WB and quit. Only later did I consider the sleep factor which was the WB anyway.

Has anybody tried Wellbutin for ADD? There really isn't much info or help about how one will adjust to the medicine.

I'm wondering if all those negative side effects like getting pissed off at my bosses--go away like how an ssri can do the opposite of what they are supposed to at first. Or is that a regular thing? How about my hand-eye coordination, will I forever have trouble putting the ball in the yo-yo? Do alot of those side effects go away? What about the zombie feeling? What's up with that? Does it go away. My first dose seems to work, then not so well, is the medicine building up in my system so that eventually I feel that first dose motivation on a more regular basis?

I really am not really going anywhere with adderall--upping that isn't the solution--ritalin motivates more but doesn't last long doesn't really round me out.

Don't you think there should be a Wellbutrin Hotline 24-7 with that hefty price tag so I don't have to bother all you nice people:)
