Generally if this is the first depression you have had and you do not have a history of previous depressions then you can do a slow taper and then see what happens. It really depends on the cause of your depression. Significant depression in the past tends to predict that one
needs to be on AD's for life. AD's are not the cure but they will control depression. Please consult with your doc before you stop taking AD's.
