Hi Roberta,

You can take Parnate with Lamictal and Klonopin, but NOT Celexa. MAOIs + SSRIs are dangerous. Parnate + Wellbutrin is usually OK, but your doc will probably want you to get off the Wellbutrin before you start Parnate, and then add the Wellbutrin very slowly if it looks like you might need it. Also, Parnate and Wellbutrin together might be too stimulating.

I have unipolar treatment-resistant depression, and was on Parnate + Lamictal for a while w/ no problems. I did lose 10 lbs. in one month from Parnate. Oddly, when I first started Parnate it numbed me from the waist down, so to speak, but after 2 weeks it went back to normal.

I don't know about the pregnancy issues...

good luck,
anita

I have read on Dr. Bob's site that there has been successful combinations with Parnate and Lamotrigine (Lamictal). I'm looking at Parnate as from what I have read on ASDM it does not cause weight gain and is highly successful for those who don't respond to normal current meds an it lasts longer.

I want to get off either of those AD's if at all possible and stick to the WB, but the Lamictal I ABSOLUTELY cannot get off of. I saw a new shrink and he said 'wow, you're on a lot of meds!' and he decided to cut my celexa and lamictal in half .... four days later brutal withdrawal for a week, then I felt suicidal again and wanted to just go to sleep..... needless to say I went right back on them and I feel fine now.
