How long before I should feel something if I will, and is this a good starting dose?

James here....

The short answer is you will feel nothing.

You asked a ? about aminos that I forgot to answer so I will answer that also.
While it is common to think of depression as a lack of neurotransmitters this is not the case
it is more about regulation of these NT's. Even this statement is far to simple to explane
depression, we really don't know the why, we do understand some of the crude processes.
Even if depression was a lack of NT's, taking more aminos in will not make more
NT's after a point. There is a feed back loop that means even if you supply infinate precursors
there is a limit to the end product. There has to because aminos are everywhere in food.
Protein is what the body uses to make amino's. If you eat meat and dairy you are covered.
Even junk food has protein. Also, we have known about aminos far longer than we made the first
AD. They were tried as an AD decades ago.

Now, if you are mal nourished or have an eating disorder you run a good chance of having depression
due to lack of aminos. Unless you really know what you are doing; being a vegetarian is unhealthy. You will starve your body
for aminos and other nurtiants. ( I did say unless ! If you know the special beans, ect. to eat being vegan is a good thing)
I have played with all the aminos and tho only one that made any difference was L-PHENYLALAINE and B-5, and it was a
very small difference. I little more energy in keeping with it being a precursor to
Norepinephrine. Nor-e is the NT assoc with my depression. L-PHENYLALAINE
needs B-5/6 to make nor-e (and process other aminos) and I suspect it was not so much the additional L-PHENYLALAINE
but the B-5/6 that made a difference. For me I find it helpful to take a multivit/mineral (and trace) so I get the B's and other
stuff.

Shortly we will have RDA's for aminos and other nutrients, it will we interesting
to see how the average diet is lacking in some nutrients.

James
