Interview was ok, job would be a nightmare.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, nudges, and attempts to corrupt me.

After waiting 45 min. for the supervisor to get done with another interview, I got in. Turns out the guy she was interviewing had got the day wrong and showed up. So she took him, and cut in to my time to answer questions. It was a very rushed interview.

The job would have been way too intense (ex., people from the legislature and other agencies wanting to have information in 20 min. because they are about to make a speech). Not a good situation. The supv. said it is not unusual for them to spend all weekend working on a project, to have it end up on the shelf.

She said a lot of people felt like they were doing a half-assed job, and I know I would have a problem with that.

So, she bolted out the door to go to a meeting and I thought for awhile, and figured I just was not masochistic enough for that position. So, I left her a very nice note saying that I'm good at brush fires, but a steady diet of that kind of intensity would make it hard for me to be at my best.

Sigh. I really need a job, but I couldn't force myself to take that one. (well, it had not actually been offered)

Plus, she said there is a lot of negativity among staff due to the high intensity.

So--THANKS for your good thoughts and prayers. It was hot, but I had 45 min. to cool off.

xoxo
Shar
