The pdoc insists that I've built up a tolerance to Xanax, which I dispute, but he won't prescribe Buspar (it shouldn't be taken with an SSRI - sic). All this despite lack of effectiveness of SSRIs in the past (at normal doses though). I'd appreciate anyone's advice on this.

Greetings to FredPotter.

I've taken up to 80 mgs. of this stuff for a while but had to cease when the sound of grass
growing at night kept me awake.

Buspar can be taken with an SSRI. It's the MAOI class that Buspar cannot be taken with,
and even this "rule" is questionable. Besides, you're better off with a benzo.
Has Valium fallen out of favor? You don't hear much about this drug anymore.
