celexa... is anyone NOT having side effects????

Posted by egalitarian2000 on May 29, 2000, at 16:45:46

I have just been to see my doctor, and she has switched me from my last medication ( zoloft) to celexa. so i immediately went straight to the computer to get the straight up info on this new "wonder drug" for depression.
It seems that there are more side effects than meets the eye, but as with all antidepressants, there are usually more side effects than the makers or doctors will admit. As this medication is relatively new, not a lot has been said about possible side effects, and sites which tell about side effects are few and far between.
I am beginning to feel like a human guniea pig, as this is the THIRD anti depressant i have been on. I tried paxil, zoloft and now celexa. I had to come off the other two because of sharp increases in anxiety and inability to sleep. It got so crazy that I was going for 3 or 4 days at a time without sleep.
So, I then decided to stop taking any meds at all. My theory was that you shouldnt be messing with brain chemicals at all! Wow, was that a nightmare! I think my family and friends have been hiding out in a bomb shelter for the last few days! So, I decided that it was worth the side efects, and went back on my meds. I am just concerned that if celexa is not the anwser, I am running out of choices.
It feels better to get this off my chest and voice my concerns to people who actually know what im talking about (none of my friends or family take any antidepressants).
I am still left with one question though; has anyone found that celexa has been the anwser? Do the side effects outweigh the depression, and has anyone had any sucess on any other meds? (just in case celexa is not the right one for me either).
I guess thats more than one question, but if anyone has any feed back, I would REALLY appreciate it! The more in depth, the better, and i would love to hear about how this med has affected everyone personally.(the posted messages are too hard to follow). my email address is:
