Amisulpride is one of the major drugs used for depression in Italy. Sulpiride, however, is mainly used for gastro-enterical disorders caused by depression or ansiotic states, according to the pharmacist. Amisulpride is preferred over sulpiride for depression because it is more effective and it has less side effects. Sulpiride's side effects include dry mouth and sedation.

The internet sure can be a wonderful tool, yeah? Imagine that, conversing with an Italian pharmacist. Very cool. It reminds me of the responses I got back from 3 different German pharmacies. I did some serious net searching to find a handful of German pharmacies that looked like maybe they could mailorder Amisulpride to me. The reason was because my previous source--Victoria Apotheke in Switzerland--changed to requiring hardcopy mailed prescriptions. I preferred being able to simply fax the prescription, for reasons I won't mention. I received responses concerning price, prescription method, payment method, and estimated time of delivery from three of them. I faxed my prescription to one of those German pharmacies and had Amisulpride delivered to my mailbox in just 10 days. Thanks to the internet.

More on topic, I don't know anything about Sulpiride. I do however highly recommend Amisulpride to anyone. In my experience it is excellent for depression, anxiety, anhedonia, apathy, and social comfort or social interaction confidence. For me it seemed to work very subtle. I didn't really notice when it kicked in, but it snuck in through the back door in less than 2 weeks. One day I just realized, wow, I'm feeling pretty normal. Side effects for me are practically nill. Amisulpride is a great medication and I sure wish we had it in the USA.
