Thanks for the laugh! lol.

You know, over the last couple years I've tried Remeron at every dose imaginable from 7.5mg on up to 60mg. My optimum dose is 7.5mg, even though that's just 1/2 the minimum dose. But of course, I don't use it as monotherapy. It is part of a cocktail.

If you're taking any other psychiatric medications, you may only need a low dose. If you are taking it as monotherapy, then just be aware that the kind of powerhorse sedation you've experienced does indeed diminish with continued use.

At what time did you dose it? I find one to two hours before bed is just right. That way I feel some of the carryover sedation when I wake, but it fades with the first coffee. If I take Remeron just before bed, it carries over into the next day big time. So I would suggest taking it in the window ranging from dinnertime to an hour or two before bed, but not as late as bedtime. The earlier in the evening you can take it, the less carryover-if any--into the next day. It does get better! :-)
