Is the Catapres patch useful for anxiety?

Posted by Greg on April 27, 2000, at 9:17:46

I've been having rapid fire anxiety over the last few days. I take Xanax for it, but it doesn't seem to be helping as much as it used to and knowing that Xanax is highly addictive, I'm afraid to increase my dose (I take 1/2mg normally, 1mg when its really bad) I spoke to my doctor and we are considering the Catapres patch. I understand that it lowers the blood pressure and slows the heart rate a bit. It would be ideal for me as I'm always forgetting to take my oral meds. Has, or is anyone using Catapres for anxiety, have you had success with it and what, if any are the possible side effects. As always your experience is appreciated.

Peace,
Greg
