I didn't make it up; saw it somewhere and thought it was funny. Cynical, "gallows humor" to be sure, but I assume that people here understand that kind of thing. I've learned not to say stuff like that around normal, healthy people. Mostly they don't get it to say the least, and may be quite bothered or put off by it.
