As Cam mentioned, there is no way to tell without a personal trial. Each person's chemistry is different. And each person's chemistry will prefer one medication molecule over another. Though all the SSRIs basically accomplish the same end result, they do so in different ways.

I've tried all the SSRIs. My favorite is Prozac, mainly because it's the only one that doesn't give me sexual problems. In fact it actually enhances sexual function for me. There are scattered reports of Prozac improving sex, but we don't hear such reports very much with any of the other SSRIs. I also like the fact that Prozac isn't sedating. Celexa made me feel kind of tired.

Prozac's long halflife allows all kinds of custom dosing. For example, 40mg every other day instead of 20mg every day. I've even heard of someone taking 60mg once a week and instead of 10mg every day. This kind of dosing can be experimented with to lessen any side effects. And if someone must stop Prozac treatment, the long halflife makes withdrawals very easy in comparison to the other SSRIs.

But the bottom line is, only a personal trial will tell. JohnL
