Given the size of the tablets, you don't have very far to go to get off of it, but the length of time you've been on it mya very well have some effect, I imagine. Seems to me that stepping down 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg for a week, then down to 0.25 mg for a second week would be a good start. If you're feeling fine with that, then try taking 0.25 mg every other day for a week. I don't know if there's much of a point in breaking a 0.5mg tablet into quarters instead of the every-other-day route. After that, you'll have been reducing your dosage steadily for three weeks -- you might want to see if you can stop right then, or you may want to take 0.25mg as needed if you can maintain at least that every-other-day regimen.
