My own personal experience is that it did nothing for me and I was taking 45mg/day. My sister was given a scrip for it when my father died and she didn't notice an effect on her either.

I think it is generally accepted as a treatment for people with mild to mid level anxiety problems.

Clonazepam does not necessarily have to be addictive. Even at low doses you can wean off of it succesfully without feeling addicted. Right now I only take it PRN since my GAD is kind of dormant now.

I am sure that some people have had success with Buspar or it wouldn't still be on the market.
