Wellbutrin (bupropion, amphebutamone) shouldn't lead to weight gain. I think for those who experience any change in body weight, it is a decrease. I know someone currently taking this combination (150 mg Wellbutrin SR and 75 mg Effexor XR). The combo seemed to do the trick. Neither drug by itself helped her to any great degree. Wellbutrin gave her more energy but no "wanna do's" while Effexor gave her some "wanna do's" but not enough energy to do them.

I don't think you should feel that you are taking any great risks in trying this combination.
