Clorazepate (U.S. brand name Tranxene) is an extremely long-lasting benzo. I took it a short time for Social Phobia (an odd choice!), and I didn't like the way it continually made me feel... a bit "dull" and groggy. But it might turn out to be very good for your General Anxiety -- just give it a week or two, during which your symotoms could improve and side effects could dissipate.

I've also taken Xanax (a short-lasting benzo) and Klonopin (clonazepam - a fairly long-lasting benzo), and have found the latter to be my (near-)wonder drug for the last four months. No side effects (after a little fatigue early on) as long as I stay well within the dosing guidelines, and tremendous benefit for my Social Phobia.
> Does anyone have any updated info on this medication?? I was just RX'd it for relieving the stressful situations that I've encountered. Any advise would be great!
