Janice, welcome back & thanks for the Vargus nerve article -- interesitng, as your posts usually are...though I don't think of myself as ugly, when I'm not feeling well I feel unattractive despite being in relatilvely good shape and having been called handsome lots of times (and not just by my mother ; ) ) Even been told I look like the all Canadian boy in the past. Though I am beyond boyhood when I've been in better shape I've been mistaken for my youngest brother who is ten years my junior and a pretty good looking guy.

I can relate to not liking to have my picture taken as it often reminds me of times I don't want to be reminded of, though I do have some great shots & others that are painful to view... Celebrating my birthday and holidays is something I've had reticence about since my teens as well and which has led to disputes with X-girlfriends & family, on occasion.

For me it is comes more from a sense of feeling defective and not up to par, unable to sustain whatever...the pictures often remind me of an unfulfilled past & present.

I gotta say that I relate to some of Noa's comments, which I scanned above, about dis-organization & messiness in my department which reflects the same in my mind, relationships and life it goes...
