When a Rx is presented or called into a pharmacy, the Pharmacist will run a computer search into the patient's records to see what has been previously filled for that patient and to see if there are any contraindications. This is all in addition to the counselling rendered by the phamacist who gives the patient the printed warnings on the drug and goes through it with them and asks them any questions. The question is again how far back does the pharmacy have to go in searching in that customer's records. I have been told that a year is enough and was wondering where to look for information on that subject.
